AN EARLY ‘33 SS DAGGER - ERASED ROHM BY ROBERT KLASS WITH SS NUMBER!

This is one of the earliest of the SS 1933 type daggers, worn by ALL ranks. This one was presented to an early SS member by Ernst Rohm and subsequently factory erased after Rohm was murdered by Hitler in 1934. Rohm ordered thst all his presented SS daggers have the SS membership number added. As he was killed during their time of issue, many daggers don’t have the numbers, but a lot do! Dagger is in very good overall condition. Ebony grip is perfect as are the grip eagle and SS runes button. Blade has a very good and clear SS motto on one side with a completely erased Rohm signature side. The much smaller Klaas trademark is positioned very near the crossguard. Klaas used this one in order to fit in the Rohm dedication. Lower crossguard is stamped III.
Scabbard retains original black ‘anodised’ finish but no lacquer. No damage to the body. Some very light dents to the lower fitting. Upper fitting remains uncleaned with yellow patina. The ORIGINAL owners SS number is beautifully engraved across the middle ‘87011’. This number does not appear on any of the current Officer lists, so I imagine he was an early SS man NCO. More records are coming out of the document centre in America, so it may be possible to identify him in the future.
