AN EARLY SA WITH V.RARE MAKER AND VERY UNUSUAL LEATHER HANGER!

I purchased this SA exactly ’as is’ and the seller emphasised thst it had been like this for as long as he could remember after a relative bought it back as a souvenir. The SA itself is a nice early example with all nickel fittings and a brown ‘anodised’ scabbard. The wood grip is perfect and there is a nice nickel eagle and enamel SA button which show some patination. The leather hanger is something I’ve never seen before and could even be British and added just after the war? A wide brown belt with two loops which the dagger sits in. There is even a notch where the top scabbard ring fits into. The ‘belt’ extends behind the dagger grip and is capable of slipping onto a waist belt and carrying the dagger vertically. The blade is in nice condition, near mint with all crossgrain etc. Nice deep colour to the lettering. The reverse has the etched makers mark for Peter Lungstrass and features an old style ceiling lamp. A pretty RARE maker, one I cant remember owning before. Rated a 910 in Ralf Seigerts book, I think it is rarer than that!! Find another!!
