A WONDERFUL EXAMPLE OF A ‘TRANSITIONAL’ DOUBLE MARKED SA DAGGER BY EICKHORN.

I’ve not had a RZM period dagger as nice as this for a long time! Usually these RZM era pieces show major lifting problems on the crossguard etc. This one does show some very slight lifting on the lower crossguard on the reverse, where it rests against the wood and moisture affects the nickel plating. But that’s ALL, everywhere else the nickel plating is 100% mint, quite amazing to see. A mint lighter brown grip with mint eagle and SA button. As this is a transitional piece the eagle is solid nickel. Beautiful top and bottom crossguards. Mint tang nut
The scabbard is fantastic, with 99.9% of the original brown paint. In fact at this time, Eickhorn produced both SA and NSKK daggers in the factory. The scabbards were first painted black and if not used as NSKK pieces, were painted brown over the black!! You can see this as there are a very few tiny age chips and you can see the black paint underneath! The blade is fantastic and in stone mint condition. All the crossgrain is present and the motto has all the charcoal grey background to the lettering. The reverse of the blade is again stone mint, but has the wonderful Eickhorn squirrel logo etched under the RZM circle and code for Eickhorn M7/66. A super dagger!!
