A BLUE CLOTH AND LEATHER ‘UNDER TUNIC’ NAVAL DAGGER BELT.
All navy dress daggers were suspended from a pair of blue moire cloth hangers. If the naval officer wore one of the blue moire cloth ‘ day belts’, then the hangers were attached to slides and D rings on the belt itself. If he was wearing the wide Parade Dress bullion belt, then it had 2 integral D rings that folded out from under the belt.
On all other occasions if a visible belt was not worn, then the dagger and straps were attached to this ‘under-belt’ which was worn under the tunic.
The blue cloth belt is in near mint condition with brown leather trim, steel buckle and twin D rings, one on a slide, to accommodate the dagger hangers.
