AN EXTREMELY RARE SET OF LEATHER ‘DOG LEAD’ HANGERS FOR THE NAVAL OFFICERS DRESS SWORD.

Because of their construction and uniqueness, these hangers, used on all Third Reich and Weimar period swords, just don’t turn up. In many cases the leather turns brittle and dry, then breaks. Very difficult to find a complete set in good condition.
This set are in amazing condition and have obviously been stored carefully all these years. The leather is supple and in perfect condition. The clips and chain are all solid brass and in mint condition.
Considering every German navy sword worn needed a set of these hangers, it is amazing how few sets have survived, especially in this condition!!
Far, far rarer than navy dagger hangers!!
