SS OFFICERS PARADE DEGEN BY PETER DANIEL KREBS.

A beautiful example of the much sort after SS Officers parade Degen. These swords were instigated in 1936 and were personally AWARDED. SS officers were allowed to wear swords, but only this type if presented (usually by Himmler). It was presented at a special ceremony and there is an award document that goes with each one (mega rare). This one is the slightly later type with nickel plated fittings, but these are in virtually mint condition throughout. A long sword measuring 38” overall with a mint semi-matt finished steel blade of 31.5”. Blade has the Pete.Dan. Krebs trademark stamped into the riccasso. This is the famous shield with a lobster inside. There is the original white leather blade buffer. Both the scabbard throat as well as under the crossguard are stamped with the little SS runes ‘Kulturzeichen’ markings. Grip is black ebony wood with horizontal wire wrap and centrally inset SS runes button. Pommel unscrews to reveal the recessed cap and locking nuts underneath. These swords are assembled in a very clever way and it is impossible to take them apart again without damaging this recessed internal cap.
A really nice TEXT-BOOK SS Officer Degen.
