THIRD REICH ‘MEMORY OF MY SERVICE TIME’ DRESS BAYONET.

This is a mint conditioned long dress bayonet with black patent leather frog. The blade has a beautiful single etch ‘ Memory of my service time’ with a long, out-stretched Wehrmacht eagle. Whilst there is no maker per se, the riccasso is stamped SOLINGEN one side and a military distributor GUSTAV KLEMME HERFORD, on the other. Blade is stone mint. Which matches the nickel plated hilt and perfect black scabbard paint. The chequered grips are attached to the hilt with two off-set, flat headed bolts, usually seen on bayonets made by EP&S. However, according to Wayne Techets bayonet book, this exact type of etch is shown on page 134 and it’s on a Carl Julius Krebs blade.
A super bayonet, worthy of any etched bayonet collection.
