UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO BUY A RED CROSS HEWER ORIGINAL FROG!!
Whist the Red Cross sawback hewer is still reasonably available (I have a nice one in stock), trying to find an original, correct leather frog for them is virtually impossible. It’s strange really as ALL of these daggers had frogs originally and they are quite hard to remove, so why do so many turn up without a frog? The black leather frogs are UNIQUE to these daggers, no other Third Reich or Imperial type bayonet frog will fit (at least not properly). This is a super example and at some time has been on a Red Cross dagger as the reverse crossguard oval lozenge has made its mark on the leather surface. It’s in near mint condition and ready for you to slip it back onto a MINT Red Cross dagger. The reverse is also stamped with the leather manufacturer Carl Buze Mainz & date 1940.
Don’t let this one get away if you want to complete your dagger.
