ORIGINAL WW2 JAPANESE NCO’s KATANA - SAMURAI SWORD.
A good example of a factory produced WW2 sword carried by Japanese NCO’s. Different in construction to the officers as the hilt/grip is cast in metal alloy and then painted to look like cloth binding. 50% of original paint left on the grip area. Foundry/factory stamps to the ferrell area. Release spring intact and working properly. A solid iron Tsuba. Scabbard has nearly all of the original olive green paint left on it. A couple of light dents near the bottom. Blade is factory steel, so not high quality but is in good condition with no edge damage. Factory/foundary marks and issue number stamped into the blade. A very good overall example.
