VERY RARE TRANSITIONAL SS ‘33 DAGGER BY HELBIG!!!

I owner this dagger some 15 years ago and I remember it well. F&A HELBIG STEINBACH are a small but well known edged weapon manufacturer. They are often encountered with the all aluminium NSFK flyers knife as they were the only manufacturer to make these. However, they made early DLV/NSFK daggers, SA daggers as well as Luftwaffe pieces. Their oval trademark was always etched very lightly on most pieces and sometimes quite hard to read! This is an amazing SS dagger made by them in 1938. The blade has their oval trademark and underneath the RZM circle and under that their allocated RZM code 1163/38 SS.
The blade is in mint condition with all crossgrain.
All metal hilt parts are of the RZM period and are bright nickel plated lightweight alloy. They are in mint condition. The grips on all of these pieces have a nice SS button and the aluminium grip eagle is set slightly higher than normal. The lower crossguard is also noticeably a little thicker. Attached to the upper scabbard ring is the ORIGINAL short leather hanger and metal clip. The leather is beautifully marked on the reverse with RZM stamp, SS runes and maker code 68/38. Same date as the dagger itself.
Scabbard paint is completely original and apart from one small chip where the hanger clip has hit it, is in mint condition. Quite an amazing dagger, in highly collectable condition. Sad to see it go - again!!
