IMPERIAL GERMAN WW1 TRENCH/FIGHTING KNIFE.

A WW1 trench knife in well above good condition. This exact type is pictured in ‘ German Combat knives 1914-1918’ on several pages. A known example of the many variations manufactured during the period. It’s in exceptional condition apart from the belt loop with has rotted with age. Grooved wooden grips are perfect with 3 flat rivets. Steel crossguard. Tubular steel scabbard retains virtually ALL the original black paint. Single edges, spear point blade is in mint condition , never sharpened and is covered in protecting old grease. Nice example. Blade is unmarked.
