DLV MARKED GLIDER PILOTS DAGGER GOOD STARTER PIECE.

Carried initially by members of the DLV (Deutsch Luft Verband) which was the ‘volunteer’ flying organisation set up by Hitler to avoid the Versailles Treaty limiting German rearmament. This is a very decent and good looking dagger but has had the leather scabbard and grip re-done. Good texture and colour. All metal parts are nickel and all present. The enamel swastikas on both sides of the crossguard show very minimal scratching/damage. The arm of the crossguard is marked with a K. The scabbard throat is stamped with the DLV winged swastika symbol. There is no hanger attached to the scabbard ring. The blade has been polished over the years but the SMF trademark is still visible.
This is not a mint dagger but is original. These, in perfect condition are fetching £1600 or so. I have priced this at a fraction of this and would be an ideal starter piece, or for a collector with a limited budget. Good looking dagger.
