EARLY SA DAGGER WITH HANGER BY OTTO STOVER.
An uncleaned, all yellow patina, solid nickel fittings. Came from a house clearance in Somerset and has never been in a collection before. Exterior is as found, with much of the original brown ‘anodised’ finish remaining to all of the scabbard body. Upper scabbard ring has the original short leather hanger and nickel clip. Grip is a mid-brown hardwood with no damage and perfect grip eagle and SA button. The lower crossguard is marked with Gau Nrh.
The blade is a little dull throughout, seems to have been neglected over the years. Lettering is still nice and clear though and the reverse has the OTTO STOVER trademark in a diamond shape. This is rated 8/10 on the rariety scale, so not often encountered.
A rare dagger but priced sensibly due to the blade condition. A mint one would be 900-1000.
