EARLY DLV FLYERS KNIFE/DAGGER BY GEBRUDER HELLER

I have been really lucky in buying several of these this year, and amazingly all have been by the much sort after maker, GEBRUDER HELLER with the Baloon Man trademark. All have been lovely examples, but I think this is the best one yet!! Considering this was made around 1934/35, it’s in MINT condition. The leather is perfect and a great blue colour, the solid nickel fittings are also perfect with no dents or scratches. Both inset enamel swastikas on the crossguard are 100%!! The blade is stone mint with full crossgrain polish. Trademark is deeply etched to the riccasso on one side. The scabbard throat is just stamped with the early DLV symbol of the winged swastika, and the end of one crossguard is stamped with the letter ‘K’ (we have no idea why this is done!). If you are looking for a perfect example, they don’t come much better than this!!
