THE RARE LUFTWAFFE ‘FORESTRY’ BAYONET.

In German this is ‘Forstbeamte Seitengewhr’. It was worn by Luftwaffe personnel seconded into the forestry service. Not really a bayonet at all as it has no mortice slot etc to fit on a rifle, but this is a SIDEARM. It is stamped Waffen-Loesch/Berlin on one side of the riccasso and Ch. Aw on the other. A letter ‘H’ is stamped on the spine. Contoured stag grips are attached to the hilt with three flush fitting bolts. This particular example is completely blued, including the blade! All vompleteky period and looks really good. The scabbard has all the original finish and it has an original brown leather smaller sized frog. A rare piece indeed. Nice little dagger.
