WW1 CLASSIC GERMAN FIGHTING KNIFE.
One of many variations manufactured and used during WW1. This exact type example is pictured in the ‘GERMAN FIGHTING KNIVES 1914-1945’ book and I have included a picture of the book page as a reference. Typical hardwood grip with grooved grips (8). Black steel hilt and crossguard. Tubular steel scabbard with leather belt loop and across grip loop with popper, all in excellent condition and working. Scabbard was originally painted in field green, a little is visible on the front but at least 50% is still visible on the reverse. A very nice and clean blade with most original bright finish. A very well preserved fighting knife from 109 years ago!!
