A LONG PATTERN ‘MEMORY OF MY SERVICE TIME’ DRESS BAYONET BY EICKHORN.

This is a very nice Eickhorn dress bayonet with the single etch ‘Memory of my Service Time’ etched blade. It is perhaps the most often found etch pattern with scroll down the middle and closed wing eagle and swastikas at each end. This bayonet is a little different to ones normally found as it has a set of stag grips which are attached to the hilt with removable nickel plated nuts and bolts.
These are usually found on Ernst Pack bayonets, but are completely original and contempt to this piece. Perhaps the original owner wanted stag grips and the only way of doing this was with these bolts. they certainly look great though. A nice nickel
plated hilt and crossguard. Black painted scabbard with original black leather frog Blade has the very deep etch go one side and the stamped Eickhorn squirrel trademark to the reverse riccasso.
