A PERSONALISED EARLY SS OFFICERS DEGEN.

(On consignment) This is quite a sword, apart from being an extremely nice officers Degen in its own right, and quite long. The solid nickel pommel cap has been personalised with the original owners SS numbers along with his initials!
The number is 51240 and the initials are ‘H K’.
According to some very brief research, this Degen belonged to SS-Standartenführer der Waffen SS Hans Kempin, SS No. 51 240, DOB 07.06.1913, NSDAP 382 076. According to the Dienstalterslites was awarded the SS degen in December 1936.
There is much more information to be gleaned about this high ranking officer.
The sword itself is in near perfect condition. With solid nickel fittings throughout. Perfect ebony grip with SS runes button. Near mint black painted scabbard and a mint single edged plain blade. The original white leather blade washer is in place and of course both the underside of the crossguard and the top throat plate fitting on the scabbard, have the little SS ‘Kulturzeichen’ SS tunic stamps.
Quite a remarkable sword and once a full research has been made on Hans Kempin, will be a wonderful piece of history.
