AN EARLY DLV FLYERS KNIFE BY SMF.

These super little dress daggers were introduced during the early 1930’s to the pre-Luftwaffe organisations, the DLV ( DeutscheLuft Verband) which then became the NSFK and finally the wartime Luftwaffe. Completely different in style to other versions adopted by the Luftwaffe, these elegant diminutive dress daggers were carried by all initial members of the DLV and NSFK. This is of early construction so is all nickel. The condition of these fittings is so good that there is 50% of the original silver ‘frosting’ still clinging to the surfaces! The mid-blue leather covering to the grip and scabbard is perfect, as is the little brown leather reinforced carrying strap and clip, permanently attached to the upper scabbard ring. The enamel swastikas in the centre of the crossguard are fine with just slight chips to the surface. There are a few tiny ‘indentations’ around the swastikas in the adjoining surface. The crossguard is marked with a ‘K’ at the end of one arm. The short, stiletto style blade is in mint condition with all crossgrain polish and has the SMF trademark logo deeply etched into the surface. A really nice piece.
