EXTREMELY RARE SET OF HANGERS FOR SEA CUSTOMS/WATER CUSTOMS DAGGER.

I am not sure which is rarer, the dagger or the hangers that go with it! I think it has to be the hangers as I’ve had several of the Sea/Water Customs daggers, but this is only the second set of hangers I’ve had like this in 40 years.
The Water/Sea Customs dagger is one of the rarest ‘common’ daggers to acquire. Made by several manufactures, but the one everyone likes is made by CLEMEN & JUNG. Identical to the Land Customs dagger, which is much more available. (Green leather) However, the dagger has gold/gilded finish to all metal parts. Pommel, crossguard, grip ring and the 3 scabbard fittings are all in gilt finish (or brass). The leather on the grip and scabbard is dark blue. The decoration around the pommel and grip ring are still the pointed leaf Acanthus plant (not oakleaf). These unique hangers are in the same form. Gilded fittings, top clip, buckles slides and snap clips. The buckles and the slides feature the same pointed leaf and are all gilded aluminium. The straps themselves take their lead from Kriegsmarine hangers are in the plain dark blue ribbed moire satin/silk material with velvet backings. These hangers have obviously been worn and properly used and show wear in all the right places. Clips and top fittings. The cloth straps show a little wear at the rear and at the top box fitting.
