A SHORT Pattn DRESS BAGONET WITH STAG GRIPS & FROG BY WKC.

As I have mentioned before, any deviation from the standard dress bayonet format, were an extra cost option. This short dress bayonets has a nice set of stag grips. Often also chosen by ‘Jager’ divisions and perhaps this was, but the green felt mortice slot plug is missing. Nickel plated hilt. Original black painted scabbard is about 85% intact. There is an original black leather frog on the bayonet, but it’s not the correct one, as it’s slightly too big and is for a standard K98 bayonet. It’s dated 1942 on the reverse, but I will leave it non place as a ‘bonus’.
Blade is nickel plated and of the ‘carbine’ type. There is a little age to the surface. The WKC knights head logo is deeply stamped into the riccasso.
