EARLY NSKK DAGGER BY F.DICK - ESSINGEN.

A recent purchase from the SoS in Louisville. A very decent example of an early SA dagger, then period altered to NSKK membership.
The NSKK did not initially exist but was created as part of the SA, their ‘motorised’ division. No separate dagger was issued, but the scabbards were orders to be painted black to identify the members as NSKK. EARLY daggers were all personally done, just sprayed or painted over the brown SA scabbards. It was not until the RZM period daggers were produced, that the scabbards were painted in the factory before issue. This is a nice early dagger, with all solid nickel crossguard an etc. A nice darker wood grip with nickel eagle and SA button (which has gone green with copper patina) Scabbard has a black paint finish and the bottom ball has a slight dent. The blade is extremely clean and bright, has a nice smooth mirror finish to it. Motto lettering good and strong. The lower crossguard is Gau marked Nrh. The F.DICK trademark is deeply etched to the reverse riccasso. A good, solid, collectable example.
