A MINT EXAMPLE OF LUFTWAFFE 1st Pattn. IN ALUMINIUM.

A really beautiful example this. Early 1st Luftwaffe daggers were all nickel with silver plating, then as time/was progressed they were made of combinations of other materials, silver plated grey alloy for instance. However, several manufacturers used the ‘new metal’ aluminium and the results were spectacular. This is one of those and as aluminium does not really age, it looks as if it was made yesterday!! The brushed aluminium surfaces to the pommel, crossguard and scabbard fittings are perfect. The anodised gilded swastikas to the pommel and crossguard are brilliant gold with no damage or fading. Even the aluminium chain and clip are bright and crisp. The nickel plated blade is STONE MINT and mirror bright. The original blue leather washer is in place. This dagger was made by and their trademark is deeply etched into the blade riccasso. A really superb dagger.
