THIRD REICH HUNTING ASSOCIATION CUTLASS.

These are always quite spectacular pieces and the hunting fraternity has been present in Germany for 100’s of years. Herman Goring was an avid hunter and was in charge of the Deutsche Jägerschaft. This is a nice hunting cutlass made by Stock Eisenach. Not much is known about this company, but they are just listed as making hunting daggers! I’ve seen the stamped name on older 1930’s and Imperial German pieces. All these cutlasses are quite long, and this is no exception. It also has its ORIGINAL v shaped green leather frog and belt D ring. These are very rare to find. The grip is a nice piece of stag antler beautifully fitted to the blade. There is an oakleaf pommel and the tang is peened over the pommel do you are unable to take it apart. There is a great DJ insignia pinned through the grip. Has the stags antlers with a swastika in the centre with the letter ‘DJ’ either side. The crossguard and all the fittings are finished in German silver and have gone black with patina. The ‘s’ shaped crossguard consists of dear hooves. Scabbard has silver fittings too and bottom. With an acorn lug fitting for the frog. The scabbard body is made of fibre and covered in green leather, so is soft. The long single edged blade is etched with hunting scenes along both sides and acorns along the spine. There is a little old corrosion to a very small
portion of the blade near the tip. Other than that the blade is fine with the etches quite visible.
