MINIATURE 9” 2nd.Pattn. LUFTWAFFE DAGGER.

I have collected miniature daggers for a long time now, and this particular type of miniature is quite rare.
Measures 9” overall. The actual crossguard, grip and pommel are all made in one piece and cast in a lead alloy. The detail is therefore amazing. They painted the grips in cream paint, to look like the celluloid of the full sized ones. Most of this paint is still present. Even the grip wire is cast into the grip detail! The scabbard is beautifully made in steel and looks identical to a large one, including the scabbard rings. The blade is unmarked (they always are) and is a steel stiletto type with a single central fuller.
Dagger is in perfect condition and would have been made as a desk item or souvenir at the time. It is very unusual to find one of these miniatures on their own as they are usually attached to a marble base as a desk set. Nice little thing.
