AN AMAZING ‘SHED FIND’ UNTOUCHED AND UNCLEANED EARLY SA DAGGER.

A really great piece this and if you like daggers in their untouched state, this could be for you. This early SA dagger came from Scotland this week, after I was contacted by a very nice lady up there.
Left to her by her father, it’s not been touched since 1945! I am not sure where he kept it, but the amount of patina etc on it is huge. However, it has not damaged anything. All the nickel fittings are dirty and have gone a dark yellow. The grip is perfect, just dirty and the eagle and SA button are perfect. The scabbard has lost the original lacquer but all the brown anodising is there. The original short hanger and nickel snap clip are in great condition. Totally untouched. The blade is actually very good. No damage and extremely bright. There are a few age smudges to the surfaces but no pitting and no edge nicks. The dagger was made by HAMMERSFAR CIE- SOLINGEN and features their distinctive ‘swimming man’ logo. The lower crossguard is Gau marked No for Nordsee, so this dagger came from the North sea coast. This maker is rated as about a 7/10 on the rarity scale, with 10/10 being the rarest. Great dagger!
